MAT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- For appearing in the MAT exam students must have completed their bachelor’s degree.
- Student who are in the final year of their graduation can also appear for the exam.
- There are no minimum marks for appearing in the exam, students with passing marks can take the exam.
- No work experience is required for the exam.
- There is no upper age limit for MAT.
MAT 2024 EXAM HIGHLIGHTS
Here are some important dates:
- For the paper-based test the registration date is 20th February, and the admit card will be released on 22nd February.
- The PBT exam date is 25th February.
- For the computer-based exam the registration deadline is 5th March, the admit card will be released on 8th March and the exam date is 10th March.
- For the internet-based test the registration deadline is February 29th, the admit card will be issued on 1st March and the exam date is 3rd March.
MAT CUT-OFF
The cut-off is decided by the colleges, AIMA has no role in it:
- The cut-off basically depends on the college.
- The cut-off is needed to be selected in the group discussion rebound and personal interview rounds.
- According to the 2023 results the cut-off for the top universities of India was around 85+ to 90+ percentile.
MAT EXAM PATTERN AND TEST STRUCTURE
- The exam has 3 modes, CBT, PBT, and IBT.
- There are 5 sections in the exam Language Comprehension, Intelligence and critical Reasoning, Data Analysis, and Sufficiency, Mathematical skills, and general awareness.
- In the language comprehension section there are topics like reading comprehension, para jumbles, fill in the blanks, sentence correction, etc.
- In the intelligence and critical reasoning section there are topics like blood, relation, family tree, coding & decoding, numeric grid, clocks, calendars, visual reasoning, etc.
- In the data analysis and sufficiency section there are questions on tables, charts, pie charts, bar diagrams, graphs, data comprehension, data sufficiency, etc.
- In the mathematical section there are algebra, geometry, trigonometry, number system, percentage, LCM & HCF, etc.
- Each section has 20 questions, so the whole exam has 200 multiple-choice questions.
- There are 4 answer choices given for each question.
- The time period of the exam is 150 minutes.
- For each correct answer, a +1 mark is given and for each wrong answer, 0.25 mark is deducted.
- No marks for questions unattempted.
MAT REGISTRATION
The MAT application process is the same for all the modes of exam.
- Students have to go to the official website of AIMA.
- They have to put in their name, DOB, email, phone number, state, exam mode, and password.
- After that they have to create an account.
- Then students have to go to the next page and add their preferred exam mode, exam centered, and 5 B-schools.
- Then students have to fill out the MAT application form and fill in the additional details like qualification, address, etc.
- After that students have to upload their scanned passport-size photo and signature. they have to pay the application fee in online method.
- The application fee is 2100 INR.
- Then after completing all the steps students have to submit the form and they will get an acknowledgment in the email.

- The sub-topics in the syllabus must be known rigorously.
