Introduction

Established in 1964, The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research is one of the very prestigious institutes under the Ministry of Health and Welfare located in Pondicherry, the JIPMER  exam stands for a gateway to world-class medical education and highly prestigious jobs in the medical sector. The university is one of the top universities in India, it is an  Institute of National Importance (INI) and a tertiary care referral hospital, known for its world-class research facilities, special patient care, and exquisite faculty. The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions, each correct answer adds +4 marks and each wrong answer deducts -1 mark.

CUT-OFF FOR JIPMER

Following is the cut-off for JIPMER:

  • The cut-off for the general category is 50%.
  • The cut-off for the reserved category SC/ST/OBC is 40%.
  • Every year the cut-off factor depends on a few things like the available seats, the difficulty level of the exam, etc.
  • Cut-offs are released with the results.

The application process is very easy:
